Great news!  The Oregon Opportunity Grant Has Money for College.  The qualifi cations for eligibility have been adjusted to make more of our Oregon students eligible for this assistance.  To see if you can qualify go to www.getcollegefunds.org .  This is the page for Federal grants, but on the right side of the page is the link “Oregon Student Assistance Commission.”

The new qualifications make it more realistic for your children to receive the help they need to get a College Education.  Some of the Qualifications are:

  1. Working a part-time job
  2. Family of 4 income 70,000 or less
  3. Working toward a degree-$2,600 max for community college & $3,200 for 4 year college or university, annually.
  4. Need to fill out the federal fafsa on-line application.

Students can apply for these grants for the equivalent of 4 years starting January 1, 2008
