Edward Jones ~ Ron Gordon
Financial & Investment Advisors
I am a native Oregonian who grew up in Deschutes County and moved to Grants Pass in 2011. My pursuit of a career in finance was interrupted by a short stint in the Army National Guard and a deployment to Iraq.
Upon returning, I took advantage of the GI Bill and earned my associate degree in economics from Brigham Young University – Idaho and my bachelor's degree in economics with an emphasis in finance from Southern Oregon University. Throughout college, I was involved in extensive extracurricular activities: President of the Debate Club, Senior Project Manager for the Investment Club, Treasurer of the Veterans American Chapter, Treasurer of the Economics Club and I was selected as a National Honor Society member of Omnicron Delta Epsilon.
After college, I continue to be involved in the community through being active in the Junior Achievement program in Josephine County, acting as an ambassador and education coordinator for Business Network International, through leadership involvement in my church, as well as coaching and participating in community sports such as Grants Pass co-ed softball and basketball.
As a father of three and a survivor of child abuse, I am acutely aware of the importance of educating the community of its responsibility to help heal the wounds caused by inter-generational poverty and abuse. I firmly believe we are all better when we take an active interest in the children of our community.
On a personal note, I have a passion for teaching and learning, enjoy goal setting, and value kindness, honesty and integrity.
